A kitchen or bathroom remodel can be overwhelming for homeowners. But we hope to make the process easier by both informing you and being there every step of the way. Today lets talk about what to look for when you are shopping for your Granite.
To begin with make sure you are going to the showroom and looking at the stone in person. Its easy to fall into the comfort of online shopping but looking at a 2 inch square online and seeing the stone in person can make a world of difference. Afterall this is your home... your personal space, you want to be as involved in the selection process as possible.
When you get to the showroom make sure that they have actual slabs (broad thick pieces of stone) and not just small squares of granite. A sign of a quality stone supplier or store is having slabs available for you to browse through.
Next, really try to keep the rest of your decor in mind. Bring a sample of the paint or wood and see how the two materials mesh. Dont fall in love with the stone until you are sure its not going to clash with the rest of the room. OR if you really find a slab that speaks to you, know you may have to repaint or refinish other areas of the room.
Lastly, have fun. Sometimes we get so caught up and overwhelmed that we forget to enjoy the process. Take your time, shop around, and enjoy your new countertops!
